As the regular season winds down and we approach “finals”, “Nationals” and the “Classic” season, it’s time to provide an update on where we are with the Alberta Annual Classic.
I must apologize for the fact that this update is coming so late, unfortunately our hands were somewhat tied by Northlands. We were down to the wire to determine whether or not we would have the same time allotment as we have had in previous years and therefore it had the potential to have a very big impact on what we could offer at this years show. However, the great news is that we have been able to secure the same time allotment over the 3 days of November 4, 5 and 6. I have attached a poster with all of the key updates to the show and I am asking each of you to ensure you spread the message around by first and foremost getting this poster onto the websites of each of your respective associations ASAP. The actual Alberta Annual Classic website is being updated as we speak to incorporate all the changes and will be available (cross your fingers) first thing Monday morning in time for the opening of the entries. However, if it isn’t available right on Monday morning, not to fear as the Classic is not a first come first serve show. We have also extended the entry time frame to a total of two weeks (August 23, 2010 8 a.m. Open to September 6, 2010 5 pm Close) in an effort to allow everyone time to get their teams in. I promise you this will be the best show in its 16 yr history with enormous payouts per class, the return of speed penning with some format changes based on feedback from last year and an improved schedule that will benefit both penners and spectators alike.
